    Funeral to be held for Lexington minister Wayne Smith
    LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - The funeral for a well-known Lexington minister will be held Wednesday. Wayne Smith was the founder of Southland Christian Church. During his time there, Smith grew the church from 152 members to more than 3,700. Wednesday morning a visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Southland Christian Church on Harrodsburg Road. The funeral will follow at 1 p.m., also at the church.

    Hagyard Equine Medical Institute in Lexington issued an alert Tuesday regarding two cases of Potomac horse fever confirmed this week in one racehorse and one broodmare.
